NVIDIA Opens 2027–2028 Graduate Fellowship Applications With $60,000 Awards
NVIDIA has opened applications for its 2027–2028 Graduate Fellowship Program, offering doctoral students working on research related to accelerated computing awards of up to $60,000 per student.
The program, now in its 26th year, is accepting applications worldwide. NVIDIA says the fellowship is designed to support Ph.D. students whose research could contribute to areas relevant to its technologies, while giving recipients access to grants, mentors and technical support.
The application deadline is October 30, 2026, giving eligible students less than a month to submit their applications.
What the NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship supports
NVIDIA’s fellowship program covers a broad range of research areas connected to computing and emerging technology.
Eligible research areas include:
- Artificial intelligence
- Machine learning
- Autonomous vehicles
- Computer graphics
- Robotics
- Healthcare
- High-performance computing
- Related technology fields
The program is aimed at students pursuing research where accelerated computing and NVIDIA-related technologies could help address significant research problems.
The financial award can reach $60,000 per student, providing substantial support during the fellowship year.
Who can apply for the NVIDIA fellowship?
Applicants must have completed at least their first year of Ph.D.-level studies by the time they apply.
There is also an important practical requirement for prospective applicants: an in-person internship at an NVIDIA research office is mandatory before the fellowship year.
Eligible fellowship recipients must therefore be available for the internship during summer 2027.
That requirement makes the opportunity more than simply a financial award. Selected students will also have an opportunity to spend time working with NVIDIA’s research organization before their fellowship year begins.
NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship deadline
For the 2027–2028 academic year, applications must be submitted by October 30, 2026.
NVIDIA says the program is accepting applications worldwide, although prospective applicants should review the official eligibility requirements and application instructions before submitting their materials.
The program has been running since 2002 and has awarded more than 220 grants worth around $8 million over that period, according to NVIDIA.
With research in AI, robotics, autonomous systems and high-performance computing continuing to expand, the fellowship gives doctoral researchers working in these fields a potential route to financial and technical support from one of the world’s major computing companies.
Applications for the 2027–2028 fellowship are now open, with the October 30 deadline the key date for students considering the program.
