Their appearance came only days after a video from Auckland began circulating on social media.
Following the Knights’ victory over the Warriors at Eden Park, Ponga was filmed rushing toward Bowell before the two embraced and kissed.
Bowell had attended the match and later shared a collection of photographs from the New Zealand trip on social media, captioning the post, “Passport stamped.”
Ponga appeared to acknowledge the growing attention around the pair by commenting on the post with a monkey emoji and two heart emojis.
The gallery also featured photographs of the pair together while exploring Auckland, including a selfie in which Ponga had his arm around Bowell.
Who is Mimi Bowell?
Bowell is a co-founder of Adelaide-based swimwear label Imana Swim, which she established with her sister.
