GTA 6’s Jason Compared to Arthur Morgan — Roger Clark Has a Simple Answer

Date:

Rockstar Games fans have spent years looking for clues about Grand Theft Auto VI, and some players have started seeing familiar qualities in Jason, one of the game’s two central protagonists.

In particular, fans have compared Jason to Arthur Morgan, the protagonist voiced and performed by Roger Clark in Red Dead Redemption 2. The comparisons have also extended to Jason and Lucia’s relationship, with some players drawing parallels to Arthur Morgan and Mary Linton.

Clark recently addressed those comparisons while appearing alongside John Marston actor Rob Wiethoff at a Red Dead Redemption panel at FanX Salt Lake Comic & Pop Culture Convention.

When Collider’s Maggie Lovitt asked Clark about fans spotting similarities between Arthur and Rockstar’s next leading man, the actor acknowledged that the comparisons were understandable.

“Obviously there are going to be comparisons because it’s Rockstar’s next game,” Clark said.

Roger Clark Isn’t Ready to Judge Jason Yet

Clark said he could understand why fans have noticed a facial resemblance between Jason and Arthur. However, he stopped short of suggesting that the two characters are actually similar beyond their appearances.

When asked whether he saw deeper similarities between Jason and Arthur, Clark said, “It’s hard to say until we actually get a go at it.”

That distinction is important because players have only seen a limited portion of GTA 6 through Rockstar’s trailers and promotional material. Much of Jason’s personality, character development and relationship with Lucia remains unknown.

Clark nevertheless viewed the comparisons positively.

“We have very limited information, but the trailers look amazing,” he said.

The actor also expressed confidence in Rockstar’s upcoming game, saying he expects the studio to “knock it out of the park again.”

Could Roger Clark Appear in GTA 6?

The conversation also turned toward whether Clark or Wiethoff could appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Clark said he is not in the game “to my knowledge,” before joking that he would give the same answer even if he actually were.

The comment was clearly playful and does not confirm a cameo. At the same time, it leaves fans with no official confirmation that either Red Dead Redemption actor has a role in the upcoming game.

For now, the connection between Arthur and Jason remains largely a fan observation rather than something Rockstar has officially established.

GTA 6 Will Have to Answer the Comparison

The similarities fans have identified could ultimately amount to little more than visual resemblance and Rockstar’s recognizable approach to character-driven storytelling.

Jason and Lucia’s relationship has also prompted comparisons with other Rockstar characters, but players will need to experience the full story before those parallels can be properly judged.

Clark’s comments essentially reflect the limited information currently available: he understands why fans are making the comparison, but he does not have enough information—or apparently enough of the finished game—to say whether Jason truly resembles Arthur as a character.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to release on November 19, 2026.

Until then, fans will have to wait to discover whether Jason’s connection to Arthur Morgan ends with a familiar-looking face or whether Rockstar has created another character with a similarly memorable journey.
